Train Collides with Unoccupied Vehicle on Railroad Tracks in South Jersey

Galloway Township, NJ – The Galloway Township Police Department responded to an incident on Tuesday at approximately 8:20 PM, where a train struck a motor vehicle at a railroad intersection on Pomona Road.

According to the initial investigation, Minh Vu of Ventnor was driving northbound on Pomona Road when he mistakenly turned onto the railroad tracks instead of the cross street. Vu’s vehicle became immobilized, and he was unable to remove it from the tracks.

Vu successfully exited the vehicle before it was struck by an eastbound New Jersey Transit Train. Prior to the collision, Vu had not yet contacted the police.

There were no injuries reported among the involved parties or train passengers. The New Jersey Transit Police are now handling the full investigation of the scene.
