FLUSHING, N.Y. — A pair of lucky Powerball players in Queens struck third-prize gold this week, each snagging $50,000 in Monday night’s drawing.

The winning tickets were sold at two separate locations, according to the New York Lottery. One was purchased at Stop & Go Convenience, located at 42-39 Main Street in Flushing. The second was sold at Mobil Mart at 165-01 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.

The tickets matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball drawn on Monday night. The winning numbers were pulled from a field of 69 for the white balls and 26 for the red Powerball.

High-stakes wins hit local convenience stores

Powerball drawings are held three times weekly — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. — and are broadcast live. The odds of winning any prize in the Powerball game are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the third prize are approximately 1 in 913,129.

New York Lottery officials confirmed the prizes on Tuesday, noting both stores will also receive a bonus for selling the winning tickets.
