Police search for shooter after roadside gunfire in Prince William

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A road rage confrontation escalated into gunfire on Dumfries Road in Manassas last week, leaving one man wounded and investigators searching for a minivan driver who fled the scene.


Confrontation turns violent at stoplight

The incident unfolded just before 3:45 p.m. on April 2, when a 36-year-old man and the driver of a Honda Odyssey got into an argument after both vehicles stopped at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Walton Drive. During the altercation, the Odyssey driver allegedly fired multiple rounds, striking the man and his vehicle.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital. Police confirmed he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.


Police release images of suspect vehicle

On Tuesday, authorities released images of the suspected vehicle involved in the shooting. The Honda Odyssey may have visible damage to the right rear panel, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
