Queens woman, 78, vanishes after leaving home in striped robe

QUEENS, NY — The NYPD is searching for 78-year-old Valentina Tane, who was last seen leaving her Queens residence on Friday afternoon and has not been heard from since.

Tane was last observed around 3:00 p.m. on April 11, 2025, leaving her home at 30-44 34th Street, within the confines of the 114th Precinct. Police say she has not returned and her whereabouts remain unknown.

She is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with gray hair.

At the time she was last seen, Tane was wearing a black and white striped robe and a blue jacket. It is unclear where she was headed when she left her residence.

Family members or neighbors have not reported any indication of where she may have gone.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Tane. Anyone with information is urged to contact their local precinct or call 911.
