Teen and man fatally shot in Queens double homicide

QUEENS, NY — A 17-year-old and a 28-year-old man were shot and killed Saturday night in a double homicide on a quiet Queens street, according to police.

Authorities said they were called to the area of Oceania Street and 48th Avenue in Bayside just after 10 p.m. following reports of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers found a teenage male with a gunshot wound to his chest and an adult male with a gunshot wound to his head.

Emergency Medical Services transported both individuals to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The NYPD is withholding the names of the victims pending family notification.

Police searching for leads

Detectives from the 111th Precinct launched an investigation into the shooting and spent several hours canvassing the area for surveillance video and witnesses. The intersection where the incident occurred was closed to traffic as officers worked the scene.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed any information about possible suspects or a motive. The investigation remains active.
