Confrontation escalates into theft in broad daylight
Around 3:30 p.m. on March 21, two suspects approached a group standing on Irving Street in Northwest. After initiating a verbal dispute, one of the suspects grabbed a pair of headphones from a member of the group and fled the scene on a bicycle.
The incident was investigated by local authorities as part of an active robbery case.
Juvenile suspect surrenders nearly a month later
On April 14, one of the suspects, a 13-year-old male from Northwest, turned himself in to the Sixth District police station. He was taken into custody under a D.C. Superior Court custody order and charged with Robbery (Snatch).
The case remains under investigation as police work to identify the second suspect.
