Illegal alien booked into Ocean County Jail on child endangerment, false imprisonment charges

Eduar Rodriguez-Varela found himself behind bars in Ocean County today.

The 34-year-old is facing a slew of charges ranging from criminal mischief to endangering the welfare of a child. Accordig to jail records, county officials booked him without bail, and he currently remains in custody with no projected release date.

According to jail records, Rodriguez-Varela is charged with five separate offenses, including false imprisonment and two weapons-related violations.

The most serious among them is a second-degree charge for endangering the welfare of a child, which carries significant legal weight. While specifics of the case remain under wraps, the combination of charges paints a troubling picture of the alleged incident.

He’s also being held on an immigration detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, further complicating his legal future.
