BROOKLYN, NY — A lucky TAKE 5 player in Brooklyn scored a $19,599 top prize in the May 1 midday drawing with a winning ticket purchased at a local grocery store on Washington Avenue.

The ticket was sold at Cepeda Grocery, located at 746 Washington Ave. The New York Lottery confirmed the ticket matched all five numbers drawn, securing the top prize.

TAKE 5 is a twice-daily draw game where players select five numbers from a field of 1 through 39. Drawings are held at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and tickets can be claimed up to one year from the drawing date.

Cepeda Grocery now joins the growing list of retailers that have sold top-prize winning tickets. The identity of the winner has not yet been released.

The TAKE 5 win adds to the New York Lottery’s continued impact across the state, which includes billions in funding for public education.
