10-year-old Bronx boy missing after last seen near Bruckner Boulevard

BRONX, NEW YORK — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating a 10-year-old boy who was reported missing Friday evening in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.

Quadir Vanier, a Black male, was last seen around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Close Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard, police said. He lives nearby at 1092 Close Avenue, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct.

Vanier is described as approximately 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 90 pounds. He has long twisted black hair and black eyes. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jean shorts, and black sneakers.

The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, and police have not indicated any signs of foul play. Detectives are canvassing the area and reviewing nearby surveillance footage.

A spokesperson for the NYPD stated, “The missing was last seen at the corner of Close Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard on Friday, May 2, 2025, at approximately 1800 hours.”
