Boat fire on St. Johns River extinguished with no injuries reported

A boat caught fire on the St. Johns River on Monday morning, prompting a multi-agency emergency response that included the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was safely extinguished without any reported injuries. The incident took place in waters shared by Clay and St. Johns counties, though the exact location of the blaze was not disclosed.

“This morning, our Marine Unit assisted St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, and FWC in responding to a boat fire,” the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “Thankfully, there were no injuries reported, and the fire has been extinguished.”
