Meet Ocean City’s newest cute and cuddly cops

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Police Department officially welcomed four new additions to its K-9 unit Thursday following the successful graduation of officers and their canine partners from a regional training academy.

Patrolman Ogule and K-9 Onyx, along with Patrolman Diggons and K-9 Midnight, completed an intensive training program at the Atlantic County John “Sonny” Burke Police K9 Academy. The department recognized their achievement on social media, congratulating the teams for their commitment and readiness to serve.

“Today, our K-9 unit officially added 4 new members to the ranks,” the department stated in a post.

The training regimen included advanced obedience, suspect apprehension, and scent detection exercises over several weeks. Both officers and dogs are now certified for active duty on patrol and in support roles during investigations.

The department said it looks forward to the contributions these new teams will make in strengthening public safety in Ocean City.
