Suffolk County cops caught ducking around on Ducky Lane

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Suffolk County police officers came to the aid of four ducklings Tuesday after the young birds became trapped along Ducky Lane in Mastic Beach.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, a 911 call alerted authorities to the stranded ducklings. Officers Sean Roche, Douglas Minogue, Kellie Znaniecki, Zachary Proctor, and Danielle Piotrowski from the Seventh Precinct responded to the scene.

The officers successfully rescued the baby ducks and released them safely, allowing the group to continue on their way without injury.

No additional intervention was needed, and the ducklings were able to reunite with their natural surroundings.

Police shared the incident on social media, highlighting the officers’ quick response and care during the rescue.
