Police investigating shooting, stabbing in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A heavy police presence on Adams Avenue in Toms River Friday morning is in response to an alleged shooting and stabbing.

Officers from the Toms River Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene early in the day after receiving calls that suggested a possible shooting and stabbing, according to Sgt. Adam Worth of the township police.

Authorities have not confirmed any injuries, arrests at this time. One man was seen lying in the road as police arrived.
