Fatal stabbing in Toms River under active investigation

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning on Adams Avenue in Toms River, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said the incident was reported around 7:20 a.m. and is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Major Crime Unit, the Toms River Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation, and there is no known danger to the public at this time,” Prosecutor Billhimer said in a statement.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim or any potential suspect. No further details were immediately provided.
