HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced Monday, June 23, as the opening date for hunters to purchase 2025-26 hunting and trapping licenses, including resident antlerless deer licenses for all Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) across the state.
All resident hunters are guaranteed one antlerless deer license in any WMU during the first round if they purchase it before Monday, July 14. The commission emphasized that this 21-day window eliminates the need to wait in line or rush for availability.
To buy a license either online or in person, hunters must provide a state-issued ID such as a driver’s license or a Customer Identification Number (CID). Social Security numbers can no longer be used to access accounts. The CID can be found on any previously issued hunting or fishing license.
“PA hunters, SAVE THESE DATES!” the Pennsylvania Game Commission said in a statement on its official Facebook page.
Nonresident hunters can purchase any unsold antlerless licenses beginning Monday, July 14, at 8 a.m., based on WMU allocations and on a first-come, first-served basis.
License process and purchase details
Hunters may buy one antlerless deer license per round during the first three rounds of the allocation process. Additional details on the license rounds are available at the Game Commission’s website.
Licenses can be purchased online at huntfish.pa.gov or at any approved license issuing agent. A directory of local agents is available at https://bit.ly/44929Bm.
The commission urged hunters to update their account information ahead of time and reminded them that CID or state-issued ID is mandatory for any transactions.
For questions or support, hunters can contact the Pennsylvania Game Commission by calling 1-833-PGC-HUNT or by emailing pgclicdiv@pa.gov.
Pennsylvania residents will have a 21-day window starting June 23 to secure a guaranteed antlerless deer license for the 2025-26 season.
