Man shot dead in Clinton parking lot

CLINTON, MD — A fatal shooting Monday night in Clinton has prompted a homicide investigation, as Prince George’s County Police search for answers in the killing of a 30-year-old local man.

Officers were called to the 9800 block of Piscataway Road around 9:40 p.m. on May 12 following reports of gunfire. At the scene, police found Anthony Traevon Dawson of Clinton suffering from a gunshot wound in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives offer reward as motive remains unclear

Homicide Unit detectives have not yet identified a suspect or established a motive. The department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
