Traffic Alert: Car crash into utility pole closes Centerville Road in Holmdel

HOLMDEL, N.J. — A vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Centerville Road near Windhill Way early Wednesday morning, prompting a road closure and causing power outages in the area, according to Holmdel Township Police.

The crash occurred along a stretch of Centerville Road, which is now closed from Windhill Way to Dearborn Drive. Authorities have established a detour through Maple Leaf Drive. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

“Vehicles will not be able to get down Centerville Road, so please plan an alternate route if traveling through the area,” the Holmdel Township Police Department stated in a message posted on Facebook.

JCP&L is currently on the scene working to repair the damaged utility infrastructure. The extent of the power outage has not been detailed, but residents in the immediate vicinity have reported losing power following the collision.

No information was released about the condition of the driver or whether any injuries were sustained in the crash.
