Teen shot overnight in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a male juvenile injured on the 900 block of Sunset Avenue, officials said.

The incident occurred Friday, and the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Police stated that the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The department’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. No arrests have been announced, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under review.
