DC police probe violent Navy Yard assault by juvenile mob

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A person was hospitalized Saturday night following a group assault and robbery in the Navy Yard neighborhood, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on May 17 near Half and M Street SE, where police say a large group of juveniles was involved in disorderly behavior. The group is believed to have carried out a robbery during which two victims were assaulted and had their belongings forcibly taken.

One of the victims was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim was also injured but did not require hospitalization, police said.

The suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. The case remains under active investigation.
