Man found shot and killed in wrecked car on Church Street

MILLVILLE, N.J. — A man died Saturday night after being shot and crashing his vehicle on the 900 block of Church Street, prompting a joint homicide investigation by local and county law enforcement.

The incident began as a reported motor vehicle accident. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered the driver had sustained a gunshot wound prior to the crash. The victim was transported to Vineland Inspira Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and Millville Police Department are working together to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting and crash. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity or confirmed whether any suspects have been identified.

Investigators have not shared details on a possible motive, and it remains unclear where the shooting occurred in relation to the vehicle’s final location.

The case is being treated as a homicide, with both agencies continuing to collect evidence and pursue leads.

As of Monday, no arrests had been made in connection with the investigation.
