BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with a January crash that killed a 62-year-old woman at a busy intersection in Sheepshead Bay, police said.

Ahmet Yildirim, 28, was charged with multiple offenses including failure to yield to a pedestrian resulting in injury, failure to yield, and failure to exercise due care. The charges stem from a deadly collision that occurred on Sunday, Jan. 21, at around 4:00 p.m.

According to the NYPD, the victim was crossing East 16th Street northbound from the southeast corner to the northeast corner of Avenue X when she was struck by a 2010 Ford pickup truck turning left from westbound Avenue X to southbound East 16th Street.
