Brunswick man bags 20 grand with scratch-off

BRUNSWICK, Ohio — A Brunswick resident scored a $20,000 prize playing the Ohio Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game, officials confirmed Friday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Sheetz #552, located at 9037 Pearl Road in Strongsville. The winner chose the $50 VIP Millions ticket, which offers a range of cash prizes including a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years.

After the mandatory 28 percent in state and federal taxes, the winner will receive $14,400.

As of May 16, there are still 37 top prizes remaining in the VIP Millions game, according to the Ohio Lottery.

Scratch-off win adds to decades of education support

The Ohio Lottery reports it has contributed more than $33 billion to public education across the state since 1974. Proceeds from ticket sales support K-12 education programs and schools throughout Ohio.
