BRONX, N.Y. — A 29-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in his vehicle at a Bronx intersection Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred around 4:10 p.m. at the corner of Story Avenue and Havemeyer Avenue, when an unidentified individual approached the victim on foot and displayed a firearm.
According to police, the suspect demanded the man’s property and took his wallet before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz sedan. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Story Avenue.
No injuries were reported, and the victim did not require medical attention.
The suspect remains at large, and investigators are working to determine the identity and whereabouts of the individual involved.
Police investigating vehicle escape route
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect or any possible surveillance footage connected to the incident.
The NYPD is seeking assistance from the public and reviewing camera footage from the area for potential leads.
“The individual removed the victim’s wallet and fled the location in a dark colored Mercedes-Benz sedan westbound on Story Avenue to parts unknown,” police said.
The robbery took place in a residential section of the Soundview neighborhood, near multiple schools and businesses.
As of Monday, no arrests have been made.
