12-year-old boy vanishes in Suitland, police issue missing person alert

SUITLAND, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department is actively searching for 12-year-old Makhi Jefferson, who was reported missing earlier this week.

Jefferson was last seen at approximately 9:00 a.m. on May 19 in the 4300 block of Ridgecrest Drive in Suitland. He has not been seen or heard from since.

He is described as a Black male, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and carrying a multi-colored book bag.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances of his disappearance but are urging the public to come forward with any information.

Anyone with knowledge of Makhi Jefferson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Missing Persons Section at 301-772-8970.
