DANBURY, CT — A Danbury resident claimed a $2 million top prize on the “$2,000,000 Mega Multiplier” scratch-off ticket, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at J & R White Street Citgo LLC, located in Danbury. Lottery officials reported the win on Tuesday, May 20.

The “$2,000,000 Mega Multiplier” game is one of Connecticut’s premium scratch-off tickets offering multiple high-tier prizes. The lucky player matched the criteria for the game’s top payout.

State and federal taxes will reduce the net payout, though the full prize is valued at $2 million. The winner has not yet been publicly identified.

Retailers that sell winning tickets in Connecticut typically receive a bonus from the lottery for their role in the transaction.
