$1 add-on turns Powerball ticket into $50K winner in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A Powerball ticket with the Double Play feature purchased at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore has won $50,000 in the Wednesday, May 21 drawing, according to Maryland Lottery officials.

The winning ticket matched five numbers in the Double Play drawing: 4, 9, 21, 37, and 56, with the Powerball number 2. The ticket was sold at the Horseshoe Casino located at 1525 Russell Street.

Double Play is a secondary drawing held about 30 minutes after each regular Powerball drawing, offering players another chance to win up to $10 million using the same set of numbers. The feature can be added to a Powerball ticket for an additional $1.

Players have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings. The winner has not yet come forward.

The jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Saturday, May 24 is estimated at $163 million with a $73.3 million cash option.
