Temple Hills man gunned down in DC sidewalk ambush

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon on a Northeast DC sidewalk, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

At approximately 1:54 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 800 block of 26th Street NE. Upon arrival, they found an adult male unconscious and not breathing, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead after finding no signs of life.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Kian-Wayne Magruder of Temple Hills, Maryland. Authorities have not released information on a possible motive or any suspects.

The case remains active, and police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
