WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 20-year-old Maryland man has been arrested in connection with a triple shooting earlier this month on U Street in Northwest D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 2:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, when officers from the Third District responded to reports of a large altercation in the 900 block of U Street NW. As officers approached the scene, gunfire erupted.

Police located three victims — two adult males and one juvenile male — all suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, May 20, Davian Raines of Camp Springs, Maryland, was taken into custody by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) under a DC Superior Court warrant.
