Triple shooting in North Philadelphia leaves one dead, two injured

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A triple shooting in the city’s 25th District early Wednesday morning left one man dead and two others hospitalized, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 4:01 a.m. near the intersection of Hope Street and Cambria Street. Police said three adult males were shot and transported to Temple University Hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m.

The other two victims remain hospitalized. Their conditions have not been released. As of Thursday, no arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Gunfire reported in 22nd District hours earlier

In a separate incident Tuesday night, officers from the 22nd District responded to reports of gunfire and a person with a gun in the area of the 2100 block of North 20th Street.

Police arrived at approximately 9:37 p.m. and found blood and ballistic evidence on the highway. The scene was secured and turned over to detectives for further processing.

Shortly after the initial response, a 22-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at Temple University Hospital. He was driven there in a red 2020 Nissan Versa, authorities said.

No suspects have been identified, and the motive remains unknown. The Shooting Investigation Group is handling the case.
