Millionaire made at the pump with $5.9M lottery win in Essex County

TRENTON, NJ — A lucky Essex County lottery player is now $5.9 million richer after matching all six numbers in Thursday night’s Pick-6 drawing, making it the New Jersey Lottery’s third-largest jackpot win of the year.

The winning ticket was sold at Eisenhower Exxon, located at 550 Eagle Rock Avenue on the corner of Eisenhower Parkway in Roseland. The store will receive a $30,000 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket.

The winning numbers drawn on May 22 were 20, 21, 30, 31, 42, and 44. The $5.9 million win continues a trend of Pick-6 jackpots landing in the third week of the month. This year’s earlier jackpot wins occurred on January 20 in Jackson for $32 million and March 20 in Clark for $5.5 million.

Pick-6 continues to dominate New Jersey’s lottery scene, accounting for three of the state’s four biggest jackpots in 2025. The largest New Jersey Lottery jackpot so far this year was a $7 million Cash4Life win on May 14 in Union.

The Pick-6 jackpot now resets to $2 million for the next drawing on Monday, May 26.
