BROOKLYN, NY — One lucky lottery player scored big in Brooklyn after purchasing a top-prize TAKE 5 ticket worth $18,849.50 in Saturday’s midday drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at Bartolome Grocery & Deli, located at 4302 8th Avenue. The prize came from the May 24 midday TAKE 5 draw, which selects numbers from a pool of one to 39.
The drawing was held at 2:30 p.m., and the winning numbers have not yet been matched with a public winner. The identity of the prize claimant has not been released.
Players have up to one year from the draw date to claim their prize. The deli remains open for business and continues to serve customers, some now hoping to replicate the sudden stroke of luck.
