BOWIE, MD — A Prince George’s County resident is celebrating another six-figure lottery win after claiming a $100,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery’s MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off game — his third large payout to date.

The Bowie man, who prefers to remain anonymous, purchased the $10 ticket at Forbes BP on Annapolis Road in Lanham. This time, he bought just one ticket, using $10 borrowed from his wife. That single purchase delivered the game’s second-tier prize.

The winner said he typically buys two or three tickets and enjoys scratching them at home. “I like to play the game,” he told Lottery officials, opting not to scan tickets immediately to preserve the excitement. He added that despite borrowing the money from his wife, he had already promised to split the prize with her.

Plans for the windfall include kitchen upgrades, new windows, and contributions to his grandchildren’s college funds. The Bowie resident previously won $250,000 in 2022 and a separate $100,000 prize years ago.

Retailer Forbes BP will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top-tier winning ticket.
