RANDALLSTOWN, Md. — A routine stop for gas and a beverage turned into a seven-figure payday for a Baltimore County woman who claimed a $1 million top prize from the Maryland Lottery’s Lucky 777 scratch-off.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at the Exxon station located at 2101 West Street in Annapolis. She was on her way to a meeting and had arrived early, giving her enough time to pick up several scratch-offs, including a $20 Lucky 777 ticket that would later reveal her big win.

After the meeting, she scanned the barcode of the ticket using the Maryland Lottery app. The top prize alert stunned her, prompting her to return home immediately to process the news with her partner and later share it with her mother.

Playing lottery games has long been a family tradition, making the win feel like a full-circle moment. The woman and her mother regularly played together over the years, bonding over games like Mega Millions, Pick 4, Pick 5, and various scratch-offs.

Winning ticket marks one of state’s highest prizes of the week

The winner plans to use the money to support her family financially, prepare for retirement, and care for her dogs. Meanwhile, the Exxon station that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

Lucky 777 is a $20 scratch-off game offering multiple top prizes. While some remain unclaimed, the million-dollar wins are limited, making this prize one of the more significant payouts in Maryland this week.
