Beachwood soccer fields to remain closed, DPW asks residents to stay off

BEACHWOOD, N.J. — The Beachwood Soccer Field, originally slated to reopen in June following renovations, will now remain closed until approximately August 30, according to an updated notice from the Beachwood Police Department and Department of Public Works.

The field, located at the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Cherry Street, has been undergoing renovations since April 7. The extended closure is intended to ensure the field is fully ready for use.

“Please be advised these fields will remain closed and will now be opening on or about August 30, 2025 to ensure that they will be ready for use,” the department stated.

Officials continue to request that the public stay off the grass area, which is being treated and may be unsafe for both people and animals. Foot traffic during this period could damage the developing grass and delay completion further.

Walking track remains accessible

Despite the closure of the field itself, the walking track surrounding the soccer field remains open for public use throughout the renovation period.

The Beachwood Soccer Field will stay closed until late August to allow new turf to fully take root following renovations.
