Teen shot and killed in D.C. home

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An 18-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a Southeast Washington residence late Monday afternoon, prompting a homicide investigation by city authorities.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 5:54 p.m. in the 1800 block of Q Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home.

Personnel from DC Fire and EMS assessed the victim but found no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Darrell Anderson, 18, of Southeast, D.C.

Police have not announced any arrests or released details about a possible motive. The case remains under active investigation.
