HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after police discovered the bodies of two adults and a child inside a residence on Henry Street early Thursday morning.

According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, Hamilton police responded to a 911 call just before 4 a.m. and arrived at a home on the 200 block of Henry Street, where they found a man, a woman, and a 10-year-old girl with gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force indicates the adult male fatally shot his girlfriend and her daughter before turning the gun on himself. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, in coordination with the Hamilton Police Division, is continuing to investigate the events that led to the shooting. No further information has been made available regarding a possible motive.

Police have not stated whether any prior domestic incidents were reported at the residence or if there were any witnesses to the incident.

Investigation continues as officials withhold identities

Autopsies will be conducted by the county medical examiner to confirm the official cause and manner of death for each individual. Authorities said updates will be provided once next of kin are notified and the investigation progresses.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Mercer County Homicide Task Force.

A man, woman, and child were found dead in a Hamilton home in what officials believe was a domestic murder-suicide.
