Sleepless night ends with $1.5M lottery payday in Sussex County

TRENTON, NJ — A Sussex County lottery player is New Jersey’s newest millionaire after winning the $1,517,266 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot in Saturday’s drawing, marking the game’s 30th jackpot win of the year and sixth to top $1 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at Quick Chek #77, located at 180 Route 23 in Franklin. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

The winning numbers were 04, 06, 18, 30, and 39. The XTRA number was 03, and the Bullseye number was 39. In addition to the jackpot, dozens of other players claimed secondary prizes.

Sixteen players matched four out of five numbers plus both the Bullseye and XTRA to win $1,000 each. Another 51 players matched four numbers and the Bullseye, and six matched four and the XTRA, each winning $500.

Jackpot player claims prize first thing Monday

The winner traveled from Sussex County to the New Jersey Lottery headquarters early Monday morning to claim the prize. The Lottery did not release the name of the winner, and as of Monday, the ticket was officially validated and paid.
