Sam’s Food Store sells lottery $50K winner in Connecticut

MERIDEN, Conn. — A Connecticut Lottery player from Meriden claimed a $50,000 prize after purchasing a winning $500,000 CASHWORD 2nd Edition scratch-off ticket at Sam’s Food Store in North Haven, according to lottery officials.

The prize was awarded on June 11 after the player successfully matched the required words in the popular word puzzle-style scratch-off game, which costs $10 per ticket.

This win is one of the higher-tier prizes offered in the 2nd Edition of the $500,000 CASHWORD game, which continues to see widespread participation across the state.

The winner’s name has not been publicly released.

Sam’s Food Store joins list of lucky retailers

Sam’s Food Store, located in North Haven, now adds its name to the list of Connecticut retailers to sell major winning tickets.

The $500,000 CASHWORD 2nd Edition game features several top prizes, with thousands of secondary prizes still in circulation.
