WILMINGTON, Del. — A 42-year-old man was arrested on felony drug charges after Delaware State Police executed a search warrant at his Wilmington residence, ending a three-month narcotics investigation, authorities announced Thursday.
Marquis Lopez was taken into custody without incident on June 12 after troopers entered a home on West 3rd Street. Inside, investigators found Lopez, an adult woman, and four children.
Police said the search yielded 171 bags containing approximately 5.13 grams of heroin/fentanyl, more than $5,700 in suspected drug proceeds, and various drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale and packaging materials.
The operation was led by the Troop 2 Drug Unit and supported by the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team. Lopez was believed to be involved in large-scale narcotics distribution throughout Wilmington, prompting the coordinated search effort.
He was transported to Troop 2, formally charged, and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2.
Four children present during drug raid
Lopez faces multiple felony counts, including possession with intent to deliver controlled substances in Tier 3 quantity, conspiracy, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $122,000 cash bail.
Police did not report injuries during the search or arrest.
