Bowie woman arrested with stolen vehicle in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. — A Bowie woman was arrested Saturday night after police recovered a stolen vehicle in the Laurel area, according to authorities.

On June 14, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers patrolling Laurel Ft. Meade Road received information about a confirmed stolen vehicle in the area. Officers quickly located the vehicle in the 3500 block of Laurel Ft. Meade Road.

The driver, identified as Kristen Renay Pugh, 32, exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. She was subsequently charged in connection with the stolen vehicle.

Police did not release additional details regarding how the vehicle was reported stolen or the circumstances surrounding its recovery.

“The driver exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident and was charged accordingly,” police stated.

Suspect faces charges as investigation continues

Pugh, a resident of Bowie, Maryland, is expected to face charges related to the stolen vehicle. Officials have not disclosed whether any additional charges may be pending.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not confirmed whether Pugh had any connection to the vehicle’s owner or the original theft.

No injuries were reported during the arrest. Police credited the swift recovery to coordinated efforts and timely information received while on patrol.
