Two New Yorkers score big in Powerball draw

ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York Lottery announced that two Powerball players won $50,000 each in the June 16 drawing after purchasing third-prize tickets in Brooklyn and Sidney.

One winning ticket was sold at Jimy Candy Grocery Inc, located at 8317 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn. The other was sold at Mirabito #35-Sidney at 112 Delaware Avenue in Sidney.

Each ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Power Ball, securing the third-tier prize of $50,000.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Winning numbers are drawn from a pool of one to 69 for the white balls, and one to 26 for the red Power Ball.

Lottery continues major contributions to state education

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America. For the 2023–2024 fiscal year, it contributed $3.8 billion to public education in New York State.
