Oxford Valley Mall shooting suspect at large as Middletown Township recovers from storm

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are actively searching for a suspect in a targeted shooting that took place Wednesday evening outside the Oxford Valley Mall, as the township continues to recover from severe storm damage that caused widespread power outages and road disruptions.

Authorities confirmed the shooting was not a random or active shooter event. The suspect and victim knew each other, and the victim was the only person injured. He was transported to a local hospital, and his condition has not been publicly disclosed.

The suspect is described as an African American male, last seen wearing green pants, a dark-colored jacket, and carrying a black and white bag. The weapon used is believed to be a handgun, possibly a revolver. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Police urge public to avoid area and stay alert

The Oxford Valley Mall was closed following the shooting, and police have asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. The suspect remains at large.

At the same time, Middletown Township is dealing with extensive storm damage. Downed trees, power lines, and dark traffic signals continue to create hazards across the area. PECO and Public Works crews are working to clear debris and restore service.

Police are asking residents to remain cautious, avoid downed wires, and treat non-functioning intersections as four-way stops.
