MARLBORO, N.J. — Two roads in Marlboro Township remain closed following a storm that moved through the area Thursday night, though traffic signals across the township are fully operational, according to local police.
As of Saturday morning, Robertsville Road between Palomino Way and Cross Ridge Circle, and Boundary Road between Berkley Road and the Aquatic Center, are still closed due to storm-related impacts, the Marlboro Township Police Department confirmed in a social media update.
“All traffic lights in the Township are functioning,” police said in the update issued Saturday morning.
While road access is limited in certain areas, police reiterated that residents seeking information about electric service restoration should contact Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L). “Our Dispatchers DO NOT have this information,” the department stated.
The road closures follow strong winds and heavy rainfall that swept through the region Thursday night, causing scattered power outages and downed trees.
Electric updates remain with utility company
Authorities have not provided a timeframe for when the closed roads will reopen, but cleanup and repair efforts are ongoing. Township officials have directed residents to follow JCP&L for updates regarding power restoration, as the police department does not have access to those timelines.
Marlboro Township has experienced multiple road closures in past storm events, though most areas typically reopen within days after debris and utility issues are resolved.
No injuries or emergency incidents have been reported in connection to the Thursday storm, based on current police information.
Police continue to monitor the impacted areas and are expected to issue further updates as conditions change.
Two roads remain shut while the township recovers from Thursday’s storm.
