TRENTON, N.J. — A lottery player in Essex County won $22,091 on Sunday after drawing a winning Jersey Jackpot Fast Play ticket, claiming 20% of the New Jersey Lottery’s growing progressive jackpot.
The $2 winning ticket was sold at Irvington Liquors, located at 1394 Springfield Avenue in Irvington. The Fast Play Jersey Jackpot allows players to instantly see if they’ve won without waiting for a draw.
At the time of the win, the total progressive jackpot had surpassed $95,000. The remaining portion continues to grow with every ticket sold across participating retailers in the state.
The Fast Play format is designed for instant gratification. With each purchase, a portion of the ticket value contributes to the rolling jackpot, which increases until a top prize is claimed.
This Essex County win is one of many smaller-tier payouts that can still deliver substantial rewards, even without hitting the full jackpot amount.
Instant win continues as jackpot rises
Fast Play Progressive games operate with tiered winnings, giving players a chance to win fixed percentages of the jackpot based on the ticket result. In this case, the $22,091 prize represented a 20% payout.
Winners of New Jersey Lottery prizes may choose to remain anonymous under current law. No identifying information about the player was released.
The jackpot continues to rise as new tickets are sold, pushing the total well beyond $95,000 since Sunday’s win. There has not yet been a full jackpot winner.
