Major New Jersey Highway Buckles Under Extreme Heat Causing Traffic Delays

OAKLAND, N.J. — The NJ DEP has issued a traffic advisory warning drivers of significant delays on I-287 Southbound due to roadway buckling caused by extreme heat.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation is working to reopen affected lanes, with repairs expected to be completed by 1:00 p.m.

Officials anticipate increased traffic congestion in the Oakland area as a result.
