Bronx Lotto Fever as $31K Prize Hits Local Grocery

BRONX, N.Y. — A lucky Bronx player grabbed a $31,266.50 top prize in Thursday’s Take 5 Evening drawing, New York Lottery officials confirmed.

The winning ticket was sold at AL-Rehman Grocery & Halal Meat, located at 1059 Allerton Avenue. The store will receive a retailer commission for selling the prize-winning ticket.

Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39, with drawings held daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The winning numbers for Thursday were not immediately released.

Lottery officials reminded players that draw game prizes can be claimed for up to one year from the date of the drawing.

New York Lottery program details

The New York Lottery said it remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, directing $3.8 billion in the most recent fiscal year to support public schools across New York State.

The Lottery also continues to encourage responsible play, sharing resources for those struggling with gambling addiction through its HOPEline and other support services.

AL-Rehman Grocery has not commented publicly on the win.

Officials said no additional top-prize winning tickets were reported in Thursday’s drawing.
