Drunk Driving New York City Cop Arrested in Queens After Crash

QUEENS, N.Y. — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested and charged Friday night in Queens after allegedly driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of a crash that caused property damage, according to the department.

Latifah Fitzalbert, 28, assigned to the 116th Precinct, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, driving while ability impaired, and refusal to take a breath test.

Details of the incident, including the time and location of the crash, have not been released. No injuries were reported.

Officer faces DWI-related charges following incident

The NYPD confirmed Fitzalbert was off duty at the time of her arrest. She was processed following standard protocol for officers charged with criminal conduct and the matter is under internal review.
