Alexandria police investigate fatal shooting and stabbing on Edsall Road

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria police are investigating a deadly incident involving both a shooting and a stabbing that occurred Sunday evening on the 6000 block of Edsall Road.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 5:55 p.m. and found an adult male suffering from lacerations. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A second individual was discovered deceased inside the building and initially believed to have been stabbed.

The deceased has been identified as Daniel Foster, 42, of Alexandria. A subsequent examination revealed he died from a gunshot wound, according to police.
