DC Cops Probe Deadly 4th Street Apartment Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 29-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday inside a Southeast apartment, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers from the Seventh District responded around 1:54 a.m. to the 4200 block of 4th Street SE after receiving reports of a disturbance. They found the victim, identified as Deandre Lewis of Northeast, D.C., inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.

DC Fire and EMS attempted lifesaving measures at the scene but pronounced Lewis dead after their efforts failed.

The Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this homicide.

No suspect description has been released as of Friday afternoon.
