NEWARK, N.J. — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect accused of stabbing a man multiple times in the back outside a home in the 20 block of Fleming Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.
According to investigators, surveillance footage shows the suspect approaching the victim, pretending to offer a handshake before repeatedly stabbing him, then fleeing eastbound on Fleming Avenue.
The victim, who knew the suspect, was treated at University Hospital for injuries to the back of his shoulders and neck.

Police are continuing to gather evidence and review surveillance in the ongoing aggravated assault investigation.
